Old Verse, New Understanding

Read: 1 Cor 13:4-13

God often talk about love. In fact, the essence of Christianity is love. How love bears all things, believes in everything including hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Cor 13:7)

This is an overused verse, I’ve been reading this since I was a kid but it resonates differently today. Gosh, how rich this verse is. Having new understanding that it means choosing to believe in a person and believe to see the goodness in someone instead of the bad thing. Including able to separate the mistake from the person. Not putting a dot (.) to someone’s life instead gives a coma (,). Means giving another chance.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (8).

The question is… If we ain’t doing that, can we still call ourself a Christ follower? A believer?
